• Spores, the minuscule reproductive cells essential for fungal growth and reproduction, are central to this body of work. Traditionally, spore prints serve primarily to identify the genus of a mushroom specimen. When transferred onto paper, they reveal dusty, ethereal replicas of the original mushroom forms. Because the prints are ephemeral fleeting and fragile I chose to cut and arrange them into temporary collages form, with the photograph as a final record of the process. The images born directly from living organisms offer a record of these natural events unfolding while also evoking broader patterns and systems within the natural world. They simultaneously suggest the frenetic division of cells and the infinite vastness of deep space. My fascination spans both the biological intricacies and the poetic enigmas inherent in nature, which come together in the ghostly, textured landscapes these impressions create.
