This series began with daily walks with my two young children when I was a stay-at-home mom. Because my children were small, we spent a lot of time in close proximity to the ground. I began to collect and organize the objects and debris in our immediate environment - particularly at the shoreline margin between the land and the sea. In the studio, I created still lives that distilled my experience of those moments. The images conflate scale, glimmering sea glass held between two fingers is monumentalized here to to suggest a broader experience of that place.
I am interested in the tension between the momentary and the eternal as we experience it in the landscape. I view these images as playful observations of the ceaseless reverberation between the smaller details, and the infinite whole.
